Global Existence for Chemotaxis with Finite Sampling Radius

چکیده
Migrating cells measure the external environment through receptorbinding of specific chemicals at their outer cell membrane. In this paper this non-local sampling is incorporated into a chemotactic model. The existence of global bounded solutions of the non-local model is proven for bounded and unbounded domains in any space dimension. According to a recent classification of spikes and plateaus, it is shown that steady state solutions cannot be of spike-type. Finally, numerical simulations support the theoretical results, illustrating the ability of the model to give rise to pattern formation. Some biologically relevant extensions of the model are also considered.

Global existence versus blow up for some models of interacting particles Piotr
We study the global existence and space-time asymptotics of solutions for a class of nonlocal parabolic semilinear equations. Our models include the Nernst–Planck and the Debye–Hückel drift-diffusion systems as well as parabolic-elliptic systems of chemotaxis. In the case of a model of self-gravitating particles, we also give a result on the finite time blow up of solutions with localized and o...

متن کاملA priori bounds and global existence for a strongly coupled quasilinear parabolic system modeling chemotaxis
A priori bounds are found for solutions to a strongly coupled reactiondiffusion system that models competition of species in the presence of chemotaxis. These bounds are used to prove the existence of global solutions.
متن کاملLocal and Global Well-Posedness for Aggregation Equations and Patlak-Keller-Segel Models with Degenerate Diffusion
Recently, there has been a wide interest in the study of aggregation equations and Patlak-Keller-Segel (PKS) models for chemotaxis with degenerate diffusion. The focus of this paper is the unification and generalization of the well-posedness theory of these models. We prove local well-posedness on bounded domains for dimensions d ≥ 2 and in all of space for d ≥ 3, the uniqueness being a result ...
متن کاملExistence and blow-up of solution of Cauchy problem for the sixth order damped Boussinesq equation
In this paper, we consider the existence and uniqueness of the global solution for the sixth-order damped Boussinesq equation. Moreover, the finite-time blow-up of the solution for the equation is investigated by the concavity method.
